CBD From The Top-CBD Isolate or Full Spectrum

The information that is going around regarding CBD is often hard to understand, let alone the different types of CBD isolate versus full spectrum. We wanted to simplify it as much as possible, so that everyone knows exactly what it is that they are getting.

Let’s take it from the top… What is CBD and why do our bodies need it? Join us and find out!

A Burst of Popularity

CBD (short for Cannabidiol) often finds itself the subject of debate. Recent popularity has seen users all over the world turn to this wonder-supplement in the hope of getting it’s benefits. It is used for your hair and skin. How often do those following the craze really stop and examine what it is that they are ingesting? If you have landed here, then you are in the right place to figure it all out.

There are two main types of CBD that manufacturers use to draw in those crowds. One of these is known as CBD Full Spectrum, while the other is known as CBD Isolate. Which one you take depends on a variety of factors so let’s dig deeper.

A Note from your Doctor

What we found straight away was that anyone who is supplementing with CBD should consult their doctor. This is especially true if your motif is to switch out a medication with CBD – which we would never suggest. If you are in any doubt, seek medical advice.

How is CBD Made?

CBD is one of many chemical compounds that work together to make the Cannabis species of plant. There are several other compounds, one of which is THC. That particular compound is the one that makes you ‘high’ when you use marijuana. When we remove CBD from a plant, we get none of that.

Fun Fact: if you take enough CBD when you are “stoned” you will actually offset those feelings and make yourself more sober.

So CBD is just one of 140 compounds we know of, that make up a cannabis or hemp plant. It is made by processing the plant and removing the goodness, usually via chemical extraction.  Once it is extracted you are left with one or two substances – and those are the Full Spectrum and Isolate types that we mentioned above.

CBD Isolate or Full Spectrum – What’s the Difference?

There aren’t many differences between the two, but it comes down to the following things…

Full Spectrum CBD

This is an extract from the cannabis genus of plant which contains CBD plus a range of other compounds that we know to be good for you. In the UK, CBD needs to contain less than 0.2% THC in order for the substance to be legal. 0.2% isn’t enough to have an effect on you in a psychoactive way.

Full Spectrum CBD is what the majority of your cannabidoil products on the market will contain. It comes in oil form and is made to create all types of products, from capsules to edibles. Some of the other oils or compounds you might find in a Full Spectrum composition include:

None of these compounds is harmful and all of them work towards your well-being in different ways. When they are presented as part of the entourage of CBD compounds, they all amplify one another’s effect.

Cannabidoil Isolate

Isolate is a different substance entirely, even although Full Spectrum oils technically contain isolate… they just aren’t pure enough to be called by the same name. An isolate of CBD is generally available in crystal form. It can be dissolved in food or water, and it doesn’t come with the oily residue. CBD Isolate is completely pure CBD that has been extracted from the plant.

If you are concerned about that 0.2% THC in full spectrum oils, then this is the one for you. Isolate is just under 100% pure. When you use Isolate you will likely need to crush it down to a powder so that it dissolves easier. Isolate is usually extracted using Carbon Dioxide since this creates a cleaner end product.

Fun Fact: CBD is Not THC – you should be able to take CBD Isolate and pass a drug test since there is no THC in it, whatsoever. A Full Spectrum cannabidoil still contains that 0.2% chance.

How to Judge CBD Isolate Doses?

When you come right down to it, the make and strength of the CBD you use will depend on what you are using it for. If you are eating gummies, you will probably be eating full-spec oil. If you are using a powder, it is more likely to be an isolate. Either will have a strikingly similar effect in the end.

Now we know that most products containing oils are full spectrum CBD. However, CBD Isolate is much rarer, so let’s go over some specifics regarding dosage, use, and other factors. Again, remember to consult your doctor if you have any concerns.

How To Take It?

The way that will give you most benefit from your Isolate is to use it in a vaporiser. It is often available pre-dissolved in a fluid, so you can use it with ease as long as you have the equipment. If you cannot find a CBD Isolate fluid, you can dissolve the crystals into a base fluid yourself.

If you want to eat it then you should mix it with something sweet. CBD, like the cannabis plant, benefits by adding butter. Its molecules cling to the fats and make it more effective. If you are going to eat it, go fatty!

In powder form simply place the recommended amount under your tongue to take it sublingually. Don’t swallow and let it dissolve.

How Much CBD Should I Take?

Whether isolate or full spectrum is on the menu, start with a single drop or pinch, then add more as the days progress. Cannabinoids build up in your system so continued use should get you a healthy backstock.

How Much CBD Will Get Me High?

None. 0.2% THC isn’t enough t o get you high even if you knock it back.

Should I Choose CBD Isolate or Full Spectrum?

The decision is yours. Isolate is easier to transport, can dissolve in most things, and is purer in form. Full spectrum cannabidoils are simpler to use, won’t dissolve, and takes advantage of the entourage effect. Trying one of each wouldn’t be such a bad idea as both have their merits.CBD
